Mobile AMR (RF systems)

RF Systems offer the lowest meter reading cost available while improving reading accuracy by eliminating human data entry error. Radio Systems eliminate the need for meter access, which equates to improved efficiency and reduced employee exposure to hazardous reading environments.

For convenient installation with inside-set meters, Elster AMCO Water offers the integral-mounted transmitter, compatible with its Itron-supplied Walk-by and Drive-by RF Systems. For pit-set meters, a device designed to withstand the brutal pit environment is required. For Itron Walk-by and Drive-by reading, the pit ERT® features a rugged die cast aluminum and high-density polyethylene housing with conformal coated electronics for environmental protection.

Both the inside and pit-set ERTs respond to a radio frequency wake-up signal that causes the meter reading and ID information to be transmitted to the radio-equipped hand-held computer or vehicle-based Mobile Collection System.
